How to play Quadranti – Four quadrants full of possibilities

In Quadranti, you and your opponent play on a shared game board divided into four quadrants, with number chips ranging from 1 to 10 placed on it. Both players continually change the chips in position and value, trying to fulfill their missions, each of which relates to specific quadrants or diagonals.

Each player has their own set of missions, most of which remain hidden from the opponent. Since both players use the same game board, every change to the numbers can affect the missions of both players.

On each turn, an action card is combined with a quadrant card. This determines what is changed on the game board, and where and how. Possible actions include swapping number chips, changing their values, shifting entire rows, columns or diagonals, copying values, and various special effects.

Certain number combinations can also earn a player bonus actions, which give additional advantages during the game.

As soon as a mission is fulfilled, it is replaced by a new mission in another area of the game board. As a result, the missions assigned to the individual areas keep changing throughout the game.

The first player to fulfill twelve of their fourteen missions in total wins the game.

The four phases of your turn

  1. Action

Play an action card and a quadrant card. Together they determine what changes where on the game board.

  2. Scoring

Check whether one of your missions has been fulfilled. Every completed mission brings you a little closer to the throne.

  3. Bonus

Three identical numbers in a row or column? Then roll the bonus die and claim a bonus action.

  4. Draw

Refill your hand to five action cards and three quadrant cards.

Be there when the quadrants open.
